PERFORMANCE
The University of the Streets celebrates 40 years of commitment to the East Village Artistic Community with a dedication of its performance space in the name of its Founder, the late Muhammad Salahuddeen. The Muhammad Salahuddeen Memorial Jazz Theatre is located on the 2nd floor at 130 E. 7th Street, (above the corner of 7th St. & Ave. A), the home of the University of the Streets since 1967. We celebrated the dedication of The Muhammad Salahuddeen Memorial Jazz Theatre with a May Day Weekend Festival of Music and Theatre from Thursday, May 1 st thru Sunday, May 4 th.

Introducing the Theatre-Cosmos Playwriting Workshop, conducted by Eugenia Macer-Story
Explore the art of storytelling for the theatre through words, music, & movement.
On Sunday night, the Festival will close with an Evening of Works in Progress.
Theatre-Cosmos will perform Scenes from Ceremonies 17 , a poetically, satirical exploration of the ancient & unexplained rituals found within everyday modern life.
